Baltimore -- Early this month, Prince George's Community College Athletics Director Jo Ann Rogers-Todaro and College of Southern Maryland's Executive Director of Student Life and Athletics Michelle Ruble received awards and recognition for the work they have performed in their respective positions and for the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Rogers-Todaro was honored with the 2017-18 NJCAA Mary Ellen Leicht Service Award. The award is given annual to "individuals who have made significant contributions to the NJCAA on a national level for an extended period of time." Rogers-Todaro began serving as the Region XX Women's Director in 2011 and has made a lasting impact in many other roles, including chairing the Division I Sport Districting and Division I Women's Soccer committees.
Ruble was named Under Armour Athletic Director of the Year for Junior and Community Colleges and will receive her award in June at the National Association of collegiate Directors of Athletics Conference in Washington, D.C. This is the second time she has won the award (2013-14). "Michelle is a leader in every sense of the word," said her nominator and assistant vice president for ahletics and student life at Tyler Junior College, Tim Drain. "Her work nationally...has given tremendous exposure to the College of Southern Maryland and [its] athletic program."
