BALTIMORE -- The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (Maryland JUCO) yesterday began the semifinal round of the 2018 Mascot Madness, as the #1 Harford Fighting Owls, #6 Montgomery Raptors, #10 Prince George's Owls and #13 Chesapeake Skipjacks have advanced.
More than 1,400 Twitter users casted votes in the second round.
The most competitive second round match was between Chesapeake and Fredrick. The 13th seeded Skipjacks rallied to pull off yet another upset and defeat the five-seeded Hawks 56-44% and will now move on to face Harford.
Prince George's enjoyed the largest margin of victory in round two, edging #2 CCBC Essex 62-38% and have drawn #6 Montgomery in the semifinals.

The conference seeded its 16 member institutions into a tournament-style bracket to see which mascot will reign supreme. The champion will be announced on Sunday, February 18 at the Maryland JUCO Basketball Tournament championship games, hosted by Price George's Community College.
