BALTIMORE -- The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (Maryland JUCO) has announced its 2017 fall season All Conference award recipients. A total of 81 student athletes representing 11 member institutions earned All Maryland JUCO honors.
Community College of Baltimore County Essex (CCBC Essex) leads the way with four student athletes, followed by Frederick Community College, Harford Community College, Hagerstown Community College, Howard Community College and Montgomery College with three each. Prince George's Community College has two, and Anne Arundel Community College and CCBC Catonsville have one apiece.
Harford and Howard represent nearly half of all the women selected with six each. CCBC Essex has the second most with five, followed by Montgomery with three. College of Southern Maryland and Anne Arundel each have two, and CCBC Catonsville and Hagerstown feature one each.
Eight schools make up the All Maryland JUCO Volleyball squads, led by Frederick with four. Southern Maryland is second with three selection. Cecil College, Hagerstown, CCBC Essex, Howard, and Harford each have two, and Montgomery has one.
Seven student athletes were selected to each of the men's and women's All Maryland JUCO Cross Country First teams. On the men's side, Harford leads with three, followed by CCBC Catonsville with two. CCBC Essex and Howard round out the men with one apiece. Harford leads the women's team as well with four, followed by Howard (2) and Allegany College of Maryland (1).
